How to tell the true or false of TC21 titanium alloy

The easiest way to tell if a titanium alloy is real or fake is to weigh it in your hand. If it feels lighter, it could be pure titanium. This is one of the easiest ways to distinguish a titanium frame from a non-titanium one. Since the specific gravity of the titanium alloy frame is about 8.9g/cm3, and that of the pure titanium frame is 4.5g/cm3, the weight of the titanium rod is half that of the alloy frame.

1. Specific gravity: the specific gravity of titanium alloy is about 4.55, which is 57% of the usual stainless steel. It is easy to distinguish from the handle.

2. Color: the natural color of titanium alloy is gray and white, and the color texture is different from that of stainless steel and aluminum alloy. Because titanium alloy is more difficult to polish, coloring, so the surface of titanium alloy products is usually mechanical polishing or matte, only a few high-grade titanium alloy products local mirror light. The color of mechanical polishing and matte surface is the characteristic gray or dark gray of titanium alloy.

3, strength: the strength of titanium alloy is higher than the general stainless steel and aluminum alloy, can reach the stainless steel twice.

4. The effect of the solution temperature on the microstructure of TC21 titanium alloy was studied at 880 ~ 950℃.The influence of heat treatment temperature on the formation of lumpy beam in TC21 titanium alloy was studied by using the methods of OM, TEM and EBSD.
