The industrial production of
titanium and titanium alloys, whether remelting consumable electrode or forging blank, or abnormal casting, is mostly obtained by vacuum consumable electrode arc melting. With the development and progress of modern technology, some new advanced technologies have been developed in the smelting of titanium and titanium alloys, including the vacuum consumable electrode arc smelting. Representative techniques in recent years are as follows:
1. Electrode preparation method for vacuum self-consumption melting of titanium alloy with high melting point metal added directly.
2, Titanium and titanium alloy vacuum self-consumption melting process after electrical interruption of the re-arc process.
3. Smelting and recovery method of pure titanium lump waste.
4. Recovery method of electron beam cold bed melting of titanium and titanium alloy scrap.
5. Melting method of clean titanium and
titanium alloy ingot.
6. Melting method of titanium alloy containing high melting point alloying elements.
7. Method for preparing TC4 titanium alloy ingots by electron beam cold bed furnace melting.
